I can’t believe it’s been a whole month now of taking pictures! In some ways it feels like it’s been a week…in some ways it feels like a year. I’ve learned a ton already about my camera…I can’t wait to see what next month brings! Oh, and by the way if you haven’t noticed, I have decided on a nature theme.
I had to go to my graduate class today so I was walking around looking for something to take a picture of. I found a bush near my building that had these pink trumpet-shaped flowers on them. I thought they were pretty so I snapped a pic.
I went to check my sago palm today to see if it was going to be sprouting some new leaves soon (it isn’t), but I thought this would make a neat pic.
I just wanted to pass along a money saving tip on doing dishes that I have been using for a few years now.
On my way home I went from Walmart this afternoon I drove around a little to try to find something interesting to take a picture of before it got dark. I ended up at the little pond by my house (where I took the picture of the coots on day #13) and I found a patch of blooming cattails. I thought they looked pretty so I snapped a pic.
For my picture today I decided to drive down the highway a few miles to a little town called Baycliff. (I wasn’t in the mood to trek all the way to Galveston.) There isn’t a ton in Baycliff but there is water access. It was 5-ish so the sun was going down. It was windy and kind of chilly….and really wavy! I snapped this pic of rocks with some cool algae growing on them.
It was another gorgeous day today when I was leaving school so I decided to head over to the Seabrook/Kemah bridge to see if I could get some cool pics. And I did!
I’ve already expressed my feelings of displeasure towards the whole winter season. It has been gloomy and rainy lately and it really just makes me feel sad…and of course don’t like to feel sad. Who does? But today as I was walking out for lunch I saw something amazing – a gorgeous blue sky with cool puffy clouds and bright sunshine. I love it! I just had to snap a pic.
I found a few driftwood boards last week when I was taking pictures under the bridge in Nassau Bay. My favorite one was a piece of old fence board that was about 22″ long. I found the perfect spot for it over the door in my [lime green] downstairs half bath. I completely stripped the bathroom and redid it but I am stuck on the decoration phase. So I stared at at the board and thought and thought and thought for days about what I wanted to paint on it. Finally I came up with something!
I had to go to a meeting today off campus (which I was late for by the way because apparently I can’t read a schedule or a clock) and on my way home I drove a different route than I do usually. It had been raining for a good part of the day and was still gloomy out. I drove down the highway and saw this water puddling in the field with all these utility poles. I thought it looked kinda neat so I stopped to take a pic. I love the reflections in the pools of water.
