Last night I went to a little party for my friends Jen S. and Michelle who are best friends (since high school) and both turned 30 over the Christmas break (only 2 days apart!). When I was invited to the get together, I knew immediately what I was going to make them…something I saw on pinterest!
I pinned this from Six Sister’s Stuff a while back:
I decided that I didn’t want to use a box as the base though. I actually saw some giant beer steins at the Dollar Tree on some recent trips and thought this gift would go great in them. So I headed to Dollar Tree and bought some steins, hot pick foil shreds, 3 packs of suckers (there were only 28 in a pack!), and patterned tissue paper. The total was $7.
I took some floral foam I had and cut it out in a cylinder shape and wrapped it with a piece of zebra print tissue paper.
Then I sandwiched it between two layers of the foil shreds.
Then added 10 suckers and a sign I made on Word and stuck to a wooden skewer. And here’s what it looked like:
The girls loved them! One one side of the sign it say “Happy Birthday _____” and the other it says “30 Sucks!”. I wanted to do something like etch or paint a monogram on the glass but I ran out of time. I also would have rather taken better pics! Unfortunately I won’t get to make many more of these since almost all of my friends are over 30 now. Sigh…
Until later, happy crafting!

I love this! I’m totally doing this the next time a friend turns thirty…or probably forty! I found you through Craftomaniac. Thanks for sharing! :)
Love it! Such a cute idea and the zebra print paper is gorgeous!
