I found this awesome piece of wood in my dad’s warehouse like a year ago. Since it came off of a big crate pallet he had, it was technically trash so I snagged it. I especially loved that the wood was rough cut and still had tree bark on it.
It took me FOREVER to decide what I wanted to paint on it but I finally decided! One of my high school English teachers had a CARPE DIEM sign in her room and I just always liked it. What a great phrase…”Seize the day!”
So I pulled out the cricut and made my stencil. I painted the lime green and then decided it needed a boder, but I am horrible at painting a border with a paint brush so I whipped out a brown sharpie…and I’m totally ok with the fact that the letters aren’t perfect. Then I lightly sanded it.
I totally LOVE the way it came out!
I think it makes a great addition to my kitchen above the pantry.
As you can see, I still have a few more walls to fill…but of course I haven’t decided on those yet! :)
Until later, happy painting!

Love your sign! I have some old wood that is just waiting for me to decide what to do. Glad I found your blog via Tip Me Tuesday. I’m your newest follower and I would love if you stopped by, Lori
Hi,
I loved this project! I just came over from the linky at A to Z. I love your blog. I signed up for emails so I can stay in touch.
Just wanted to say hi. I’ll be lurking around here for a while!
Have a nice week.
Sherry
It looks great! I just did a sign myself. I love the way yours turned out.
Came over from It’s Overflowing just because when I taught I had this saying above my classroom door. Since you are a teacher, I am sure you have seen the Robin Williams movie which made this phrase super- popular. You did a great job with it. (Hint: Before your English teacher reads this, change sieze to seize!)

LOL thanks Donna! I am usually a psycho about spell checking but that one slipped through! :)
